Color, Unity, Movement, and Variety are highlighted. It is fun and easy for every student to be successful. Students learn about color bias, tints, shades, and intensity of color as well as how to create rhythm, variety, and movement with dot size, placement, and color. Nonetheless, Hirst’s mandalas continue to captivate, shock, and provoke.This lesson teaches students to create radial symmetry and is a great introduction to color mixing. It doesn’t do anything too wild – like 2016’s Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable (which was described as “art for a post-truth world” and comes with a documentary available on Netflix).
